Charcoal Fork
For the extraction of charcoal from the kiln. Also very useful for moving wood chips and bark
Product Description
A 10 Prong fork for the extraction of charcoal from kilns, made by Bulldog Tools in Wigan.
Bulldog have been making tools in a traditional way for over 200 years. Described by Bulldog as a Tarmac Fork but we have used these forks in our charcoal business for more than 12 years. They work in a similar way to a shovel as the prongs are dished and chisled so will penetrate kiln contents with ease without damaging the charcoal excessively. The distance between each prong is approx. 1" so most of the fines will fall through, allowing you to bag up just the saleable charcoal
Product Specification
10 solid forged prongs, Bulldog are the only company currently producing this way. The prongs and straps are made from a solid piece of maganese steel forging, rivited to a wooden shaft, probably the strongest combination available. Varnished handle of ash, from Grade A straight grained stock. Sourced from FSC certified woodlands
Additional notes
Charcoal burners throughout the country use all manner of devices to get charcoal out of kilns, shuvals, potatoe forks, sippets, clam shell buckets(!), but these forks are the best
