A Shavehorse is an essential piece of kit for pole lathe turners. In my opinion, this type of shavehorse is far better for working on longer timbers such as rails for cleft ash gates where the piece can be brought in from the side of the shave horse. Also, it quickly adjusts to work timbers of different sizes and the head automatically lifts clear from the workpiece when your foot is release.

Product Specification
Made mostly from sawn hardwood, normally oak, bed approx 5' long, approx 7" wide, 4 legged. This style is built with a central arm coming through the centre of the body and ramp at the top of which is a heavy dumbhead.
Additional notes
Made largely of oak, it should be extremely robust and durable.
