Just released, at last..........a good sized outdoor kettle. Boils 10 pints water in about 20 minutes. Sits directly on the ground or on house bricks. Works like a standard Storm Kettle using the same natural updraft of the kettle to produce a roaring heat very quickly from readily available small dry woody material
Product Specification
Made from stainless steel with seperate filling cap and pouring spout and handles. Aproximate size 17" tall by 9" wide excluding spout. Small disc covers chimney to protect hand from flames when removing from the heat source
Additional notes
A kettle that works in the same way as a standard Storm Kettle but with extra capacity has been long awaited, well.... it is here now.
On our woodcraft courses here in the UK we generally don't use the Storm Kettle because it does not have the capacity to produce enough water for a whole bunch of thirsty students. This kettle will produce upto 10 pints of water in about 20 mins. We tested and reviewed one during August this year in Norway. We particuarly liked the way it worked in a similar way to a standard Storm Kettle, a way in which many people are now familiar with, using fuel of wood shavings, small twigs etc. It does require a little getting used to, for example one has to learn to have enough dry fuel of the right size ready before you start and have the teapot or cups raised slightly so you can pour the water straight in without spilling much.
Coming soon. We are developing a plywood box to contain the Triple S Kettle, so it can be easily transported without getting damaged
