Adzes
An adze is a hand tool with a steel blade attached at right angles to a wooden handle used generally for dressing wood.
We have only ever used doubly curved adzes to shape chair seats bottoms and to hollow out wooden bowls so this is why we are stocking the tools listed below.
We have two adzes from Gransfors Bruks which come with the normal 20 year guarantee and recent arrivals include two new short handled adzes from respected Swedish toolmakers Hans Karlsson
Our next Bowl Carving course will be held at our workshops within the grounds of Beamish Museum, Co.Durham, 21 / 22 April and 20 / 21 October 2012. Or........if you fancy the complete Holiday Experience package we are offering a fully catered Bowl and Spoon Carving course in eastern Norway d27 - 30 August 2012. If you would like to be kept informed drop us an e-mail.
