Ancient Axes
The latest addition to our range of Ancient Axes is the Franciska......take a look
Gransfors Bruks passion for axes is indisputable. Not only do they make high quality axes for a range of specialised uses but also make a series of replica axes of Northern Europe. The axe has developed over many thousands of years, at Gransfors, knowing about the culture and social history of the axe provides them with a better underatanding of the design and functions of axes used today.
Mostly the axes in this section are forged by Ulrika Stridsberg (US)
The axes in this series are based on original axes from the iron age and the viking age. The design and final shaping is adapted so that it corresponds as far as possible to the original. The replicas not only resemble the original as closely as possible but also fulfill the demands of quality expected of a utility tool today, probably of better quality than the originals ever were.
The whole range of ancient axes is not kept in stock but will order from GB any axe in the range. Each axe comes with a copy of The Axe Book and also a copy of the Ancient Northern European Axe Book.
