Carving Axes
The axes in this section are all designed for accurate and controlled wood removal wether it be spoons, bowls or sculpture. The Gransfors Bruks Large Carving Axe, Double-sided Sharpened can be considered a great all round axe and suitable for right or left handed use. By putting a hand finished red beech handle on a standard axe even better control is achieved with carved facets running along the handle and a larger, beautifully carved swell knob. The main difference with most of these axes is an asymetric grind, i.e. for right handed use the bevel is ground longer on the left hand side and vice versa for the left handed axes.
We will normally have left handed versions in stock of all handed carving axes.
