Gransfors Bruks Small Splitting Axe
Suitable for people who may need to split bought in firewood down further or to produce kindling
Product Description
Not quite the smallest of the Gransfors splitting axes, that title belongs to the Splitting Hatchet with which it shares the same size and weight of head, but still possible to use single handed. Forged and ground to a concave and quite thin blade at the bit. A very efficient axe, capable of dealing with most smaller 'rounds'
Product Specification
Head weighs 2Ibs, the face is 2.5", comes with a 23" hickory handle and a steel collar near the head to reduce damage when over-shoot occurs. Comes with a grain leather sheath and the Axe Book
Additional notes
The design of this axe helps the axe to go fast into the wood - and then split efficiently when the thicker part hits and drives the wood apart. Not designed to be hit on the poll with a steel sledge hammer or used to pound a wedge into a log.
