Designed for spliting apart large resistant firewood rounds, the maul's head is heavier compared even to the Large Spliting Axe and the poll is designed for pounding on a wedge, much in the way you might use a sledge hammer

Product Specification
Head weighs 5.5Ibs, and has a 2.5" face. The 31" hickory handle has circular grooves at the grip and a steel collar below the head to reduce damage if over-shoot occurs. Comes with a grain leather sheath, a twenty year guarentee and the Axe Book
Additional notes
This axe will deal with the most differcult species of firewood. As with all GB splitting axes the cheeks are concave to get the split quickly started
