You pull the hide with one hand at the same time pushing between the carcass and the skin with the rounded and polished axe poll; stroke by stroke the hide comes off without damaging the hide. The cutting end is similar to the Small Forest Axe and as such performs in a similar way

Apart from the rounded and highly polished poll and a slightly different handle the bit of this axe is similar to the Gransfors Small Forest Axe.
Product Specification
Head weighs 1.5Ibs, has a 3. 25 " bit and has a 19" hickory handle. The poll on this axe is forged thinner than normal and gently rounded and burnished to be used when skinning an animal. Comes with a grain leather sheath and the Axe Book
