Calling this a Hunting Axe is a little misleading, as It feels like a good all-round axe, suitable for many everyday green woodworking jobs.

Of course there will be times when it will feel too light, or too heavy, but it's well balanced nature and long symetrical bevels give you the impression you could do a whole lot of craftwork with this axe. Needless to say we have one of these in our own tool basket.

Product Description

Includes all the components you will need to complete a Wetterlings Small Hunting Axe

  • Hunting Axe head                                                                                              x1

  • Hickory handle blank for a Small Hunting Axe, cut to a basic shape      x1

With this axe you will be able to individualize the handle and really make it your own.

This is what Wetterlings say about this axe: Powerful and compact, it's slightly oversized head and shortish handle makes this a very    handy and dexterous axe.

Wetterlings axe heads are hand made and measured by eye, therefore minor variations may occur.

Axe review by 13 year old Ewan:

I used it for carving, it gave a really smooth cut and it felt nice to work with.  Also used it to split small pieces of firewood and it worked well.

I liked the fact that the handle is small enough to fit into a backpack but still long enough to be able to put some power behind it.
