Ideal for harvesting small rods, working material up and cleaving, although if you do a lot of cleaving the Devon would be a better choice
Product Description
Made by Morris of Dunsford, Devon. A very well balanced forged billhook for general work, not too heavy, difficult to beat. As each tool is hand made there are small forging differences to each hook.
Tool making has been an industry at the Dunsford works in Devon for more than 100 years and in our opinion these tools are far better than anything else on the market, dispite the need sometimes for some final filing and/or honing to remove small manufacturing and grinding work on the edge.
Down to earth tools deigned for professional use
Product Specification
5.5" oval handle made of ash, blade length approx 9", long equal bevels. Tang runs full length of the handle.
Additional notes
We would only consider using Morris billhooks for our general coppicing work, and so pleased that a long established company is still making such traditional tools that work and are great value. Very satisfying to use a sharp well balanced 'hook. Also available with a RH or LH single bevel, e-mail for more information.
