Svante Djarv 10.5" Drawknife
With a blade edge of 10.5" it is the biggest general duty drawknife we stock. The slight curve along the length of the blade bevel up allows you to shape the underside of bowls, and bevel down is useful when rounding billets
Product Description
Good size, handmade drawknife from Swedish toolsmith Svante Djarv. Handles are cranked down slightly allowing use bevel down or bevel up. The blade is also slightly curved along its length
Product Specification
Handmade from high carbon swedish toolsteel, blade edge 10.5" long, total length of tool 17", 4.5" long traditionally shaped handles of elm from southern Sweden. Not weighed as yet but feels very comfortable in the hand, not at all heavy.
Additional notes
Having taken some time to develop a feel for the Ray Iles, Mike Abbott Design drawknife, which, because of the cranked handles can be used bevel down or bevel up, along comes this drawknife with a similar arrangement. We do think this tool offers the best control and feel for a variety of work.
If you appreciate high quality tools that work extremely well, feel great in the hand and look fantastic this is the one to go for.
One of these just had to go into our own toolbasket (I can't afford this job!)
