A splitting tool, often used in conjunction with a cleaving break.

We now stock Ray Iles Large Froe with a parallel sided eye. This allows you to turn your own handle with a shoulder and fit a wooden wedge or a coach screw. We find this advantageous in some circumstances when progressing the froe along a split so the handle can't be pushed out of the eye.
Look at two new froes we have added to our stock, both from German manufactuer Muller, one has a 35cm long iron and the other 22cms long. These are certainly not cheap but are formidable tools which we are pleased to add to the line-up, for the most demanding professional use.
