Ben Orford Indian Crook Knife, Right
Of the two styles of Indian Crook Knives Ben makes this is the one with a curved blade like a large spoon knife with the bevel on the outside, ideal for hollowing out large spoon bowls or ladles. Also good for hollowing out shrink boxes.
Product Description
Based on a north American design commonly called a 'Mocotaugan'. Can be used like we use a draw knife but with one hand instead of two. It is the multi-tool of the woodsman. It has a much bigger and wider blade and a shaped handle with an extra thumb spur to enable greater leverage and control. Very comfortable slightly faceted handle treated to a light coat of boiled linseed oil.
This is the right handed version with an external bevel
Comes with a simple strip leather sheath.
Product Specification
Partial tang blade made from 01 Tool Steel heat treated to 57 - 59 Rockwell, blade length 2.25" long and a 1.25" curve. Handle made from tough English Elm, approx 7 1/2" long
Additional notes
01 Tool Steel will take and keep a great edge but always keep clean and dry to prevent tarnishing and rust.
