Ben Orford Small Crook Knife, Right
These knives have a single external bevel making it ideal for the carving of spoon bowls
Product Description
Small Crook or Spoon Knife made by British tool maker and green woodworker Ben Orford. A partial tang knife, which means the tang does not travel the full length of the handle. Handle made from English Elm which is a good choice as it's a tough wood perfect for the job as it resists splitting. Handle is hand carved with facets running its full length so it's comfortable in the hand, lightly oiled with boiled linseed oil.
Comes with a long strip of leather to provide some protection for the edge, but would be further protected if contained within a Tool Roll or its own Indivdual Case
Product Specification
Made from 01 tool steel with a partial tang. Heat treated and tempered to 57 - 59 Rockwell. Total length approx 6". Elm handle with a light boiled linseed oil treatment
Additional notes
Remember 01 tool steel takes and holds a great edge but will require cleaning and drying before being put away, including after carving green wood
