Pole Lathe - Tools and Accessories
Turning tools for the pole lathe are different to those used on a power lathe. Invariably they have shorter handles because there is not so much of a control issue as there is with the high speed of a power lathe. The use of a broad 2" chisel for smoothing is pretty unique.
Most of the turning tools listed here come from Ashley Iles who have a well deserved reputation as a small UK manufacturer of high quality, hand made, well finished tools, sold throughout the world. All of their tools are fully warrented. Any tool found faulty in materials or edge keeping qualities will be replaced unconditionally. All their edge tools are perfectly ground and will need a final hone before use. Handles, made mainly from beech, come from a sustainable source.
