Originally designed for use on power lathes but we use these to good effect for the outside and parts of the inside of a bowl on the pole lathe. Very effective on end-grain and dealing with the final part of the bowl core

12mm Long and Strong Bowl Gouge from Ashley Iles with fingernail grind
Product Specification
Total length 21". Beech handle 11.5" long with brass ferrule. 'V' shaped flute milled from round bar which provides strength and stability. Made from HSS

This is the classic fingernail grind on a 12mm (3/8" ) Bowl Gouge.
