Twybils
As far as I can tell, twybils were traditionally made locally by local blacksmith's in the past and in more recent times, because all the one's I've seen have all looked different and most quite crudely designed. They seem to differ in the way they worked. We have used a particular twybil for a long time and asked tool maker Ashley Iles to design one based on our sample. The result is the tool we now have for sale, and it works extremely well and nicely balanced. We have had sheaths made locally to fit, the first few made are from a black split leather, but we are planning to have some made from veg tan leather, which will cost a little more but will look and feel much better.
